After painting for almost 20 years and working in clay for 10, I was ready to take the plunge into joining a somewhat ‘local’ gallery cooperative in Westerly. For the past 2 years, I have been an artist member of the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly. Initially juried into the co-op as a ceramic sculptor, ceramics were my focus for the past 2 years. This year I have decided to dedicate my energies to painting, working to be loose and free in my technique. This is certainly an ongoing journey.
This is the year that I am returning to my first artistic medium, watercolor. Several workshops and my ‘renewed’ discovery of Yupo, has sparked my creative juices and I’m thrilled to be painting daily. I look forward to tracking my growth on this journey and using my website to create a visual journal to track my progress. My goal is to share my appreciation for nature and the delicate balance of our environment through my paintings utilizing form, texture and color.
