First attempts at painting on Yupo. Tree-free, Yupo is similar to painting on Vellum or Mylar. The paints sit on top versus soaking into normal paper. It allows me to paint loose and free. You can’t overwork your paintings as every time you go in you risk the chance of removing the previous wash. The beauty is in being ok with letting go and taking advantage of the fluidity and natural tendencies of water based mediums. I took a photo of this Great Blue Heron on the beach at Fort Desoto in St. Petersburg, Florida.
